2012 Del Sol Ragnar Relay Team
We’ve just filled our Tennessee Ragnar Relay team and we’re happy to officially announce that we’re headed to the desert in February! We’ll be traversing the beautiful scenery of the American West as we travel from Wickenburg, AZ, through the Sonoran desert, around the Phoenix metropolitan area, and across the finish line in Tempe, AZ. It’s a 200 mile running party and we can’t wait to participate!
If you’re an overnight relay veteran, then you know how much fun this will be. If you’ve never run in an overnight cross country relay, then we highly recommend the exciting experience! Although the 200 mile distance sounds intimidating, it’s really not. The distance is split among the 12 members of the team and each member runs 3 separate legs a few hours apart. The best part is that the legs vary in length and difficulty. There are long, difficult legs for the expert runners and short, easy legs for novice runners. It starts early on Friday and ends on Saturday afternoon, so it’s not too much time away from work or family either – but the amazing memories will certainly last a lifetime!
You really have to see it to believe it. Fortunately, ESPN put together a great video about the similar Ragnar Wasatch Back Relay:

Like 90% of the other teams in the relay, we’re not out there to win. We’re there to share our love of running and adventure with everyone else in a big, sweaty van-based party. If that sounds like fun to you, we’d love to have you join us. Our 2012 Del Sol Ragnar Relay Team is now officially recruiting!
